Edem Dei Tutu - SRC President

Office of The President

Born in Accra Ghana, Edem Dei-Tutu is a final year communication student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He is the current SRC President of the school.

The President is an old Student of Mawuli School in the Volta region where he had his secondary school education. He has deep interests in sports, history and governance.


A member of the Osagyefo hall on campus, he is filled with integrity and passion. Edem’s drive to push student interest ahead lies deep within as with all else he commits himself to.

This passion has seen him serve the student front in many capacities. He served as defendant General, committee chair, PRO of the sports commission before taking the reigns of leadership at the SRC.

Forged through the very motor of his high school, (Head, heart, Hand), Edem believes in the leadership of service. He understands the will of the student to attain excellence and poised to render himself unto that goal.

My vision for Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) is to have an institute that is a global standard for a communication university. Through a credible and committed Students’ Representative Council (SRC), I envision a university that promotes equality and fairness amongst students of all backgrounds, creed and orientation.
